Gone Fishin'

I'm not actively blogging here anymore. But if you got here because you were searching for something about bikes, you might want to check out my latest project, Vermont Goldsprints. In summer of 2014, I bought a used goldsprints racing setup and have made it a mission to get more bikes in more people's faces by putting on fun races in unexpected places. Come join me!

Running Shorts

I ran in shorts for the first time this year today. Sure, I could have been out there in shorts a month ago, but today it really felt like I could put them on and not have to go back to the long pants I've been running in for the last six months. Here's hoping. Spring brings a whirlwind of night meetings and extended retail shifts, and not a great deal of free time, but I'm enjoying my work. The paths are busy with recent returnees to the outdoor fitness thing, and you can see the winter's inactivity in their pained grimaces. Kate and I are both glad we persevered through the winter. It makes the return of good weather even better when you're in shape for it. I've really enjoyed riding my three speed dumpster bike fixie conversion this spring as well. It's much lighter than the old Trek. Here's a picture of what it used to look like: Next time, a picture of it in its current configuration.
