Body Work: Week Five Journal and Summary

It was something of a plateau week this week, depute a great deal of additional exercise. Coupled with a little less restraint in the food department, I didn't see a whole ton of movement, but at least the movement I did see was in the right direction. Gory details follow:

Goal: Lose 30 pounds, from 224.17 pounds down to 194.17 pounds by the week of June 1, 2011, calculated using 7-day average weight.

Progress:
Average Weight:  213.49 pounds, down 1.14 pounds from 214.63 pounds last week.
Average Body Fat: 28.1%, down .33% from  28.43% last week.

Weeks until Goal:  12
Progress toward Goal: 10.68 pounds out of 30 total to lose; 35.6% of goal.
Pounds to Lose: 19.32
Pounds to Lose/Week to Meet Goal: 1.61

Total Exercise:
240 minutes on the rollers, 65 more minutes than last week’s 175 minutes.

Monday, March 7, 2011.  213.6 pounds, 28.1% Body Fat.

Exercise:
An hour and a half of shoveling, 40 minutes on the rollers, 155-165 BPM.

Food:
A bowl of steel-cut oats with maple syrup. A big spinach salad with Gorgonzola, pecans and cranberries, oil and vinegar dressing. A bowl of buttered salted popcorn, a big salad (same as lunch), three Champlain Chocolates truffles, a slice of cherry pie, a half of a roasted chicken breast with a cup of mashed potatoes. black coffee in the morning and tons of water and tea to drink all day. Two Lindt chocolate balls.

Day 30:
Tuesday, March 8, 2011. 213.6 pounds, 28.1% Body Fat.

Exercise:
40 minutes on the rollers, a little less intense than last night.

Food:
A bowl of steel-cut oats with maple syrup. A big spinach salad with Gorgonzola, pecans and cranberries, oil and vinegar dressing. Two bowls of ham and bean soup. Two oatmeal peanut butter bars. Two lake Champlain Chocolates truffles, a small plate of baked carrots, chicken, prime rib and potatoes (mostly carrots, and we’re talking probably ¾ of a six inch plate, 2 inches deep.

Day 31:
Wednesday, March 9, 2011. 213.6 pounds, 28.1% Body Fat.

Exercise:
40 minutes on the rollers, more intense than last night. Could not find the sending unit for my heart rate monitor.

Food:
A bowl of steel-cut oats with maple syrup. A big spinach salad with Gorgonzola, pecans and cranberries, oil and vinegar dressing. A bowl of bean soup A hunk of bread with butter. A sandwich of oatmeal bread with mustard, mayo and light and dark meat chicken. A zucchini, sliced and cooked in olive oil and Thai sweet chili sauce. Two Lake Champlain Chocolates truffles.

Day 32:
Thursday, March 10, 2011. 213.0 pounds, 28.1% Body Fat.

Exercise:
None.

Food:
A bowl of steel-cut oats with maple syrup. A big spinach salad with Gorgonzola, pecans and cranberries, oil and vinegar dressing. A bowl of baked beans, two no-fat turkey hot dogs in buns with mustard and ketchup, two big slices of toasted brown bread with butter.

Day 33:
Friday, March 11, 2011. 214.2 pounds, 28.1% Body Fat.

Exercise:
40 minutes on the rollers, 160-165 BPM.

Food:
A bowl of steel-cut oats with maple syrup. A cup and a half of bean soup for lunch. Much more water than yesterday. A big cheese calzone with sauce and a giant spinach salad with pecans and craisins, oil and vinegar dressing.

Day 34:
Saturday, March 12, 2011. 213.2 pounds, 28.1% Body Fat.

Exercise:
40 minutes on the rollers, 160-165 BPM.

Food:
Three scrambled eggs and two slices of buttered toast. Coffee and water, water, water. Three Whitman’s chocolates, 220 calories. One giant spinach salad with pecans, grana padano cheese, oil and vinegar, one small portion leftover chicken and mashed potatoes. Half an order of drunken noodles from Tiny Thai and one chocolate lave cake. 375 ml Black IPA, 7.4% ABV.

Day 35:
Sunday, March 13, 2011. 213.2 pounds, 28.1% Body Fat.

Exercise:
40 minutes on the rollers, 155-160 BPM.

Food:
Three slices of french toast with maple syrup. Black coffee galore. Scrambled eggs with cheese, a huge helping of fruit salad, three veggie breakfast sausages, two small slices of coffee cake, more coffee, the other half of my drunken noodles and one Lake Champlain Chocolates truffle. Some leftover calzone and a medium spinach salad of the type I have eaten approximately 1,000 times since starting this project.
